Louise Speaks: We stumbled upon this winery as we were invited to a wedding. The head chef at Page Springs Cellar is an old employee of mine and we were thrilled to be invited to his wedding. Prior to the wedding we were given a tour of the winery and given the history of how Page Springs Cellars began. Page Springs Cellars is a family owned vineyard and winery crafting fine Arizona Wines tucked into the volcanic landscape overlooking pristine Oak Creek. Page Springs Cellars Arizona winery offers delicious Rhône style wines, gourmet food selections and breathtaking views. The winery is just 15 minutes south of Sedona where you can experience a true taste of Arizona. Whether you are a novice or aficionado the experienced staff can suggest tasting flights from their extensive wine menu to delight any palate.
The vineyards are a creation of wines that starts with the finest Arizona grapes; from their own Estate Vineyard in the Verde Valley to the southeast corner of the state. Page Springs collaborates with several vineyards in varying locations and climates on a quest to secure quality fruit to make wines that are an expression of these places. The wine tours are very informative. You will learn the history, culture and process of winemaking from grape to bottle. They offer you the opportunity to taste award winning wines, including a special tasting pulled directly from a barrel. The tour also includes their beautiful grounds including the estate vineyards, cellar, barrel room and crush pad. There is also a restaurant on site….of which I can attest to the chef and how he creates miracles.
What impressed me the most about this winery is how personal they are. The winery is right along the Oak Creek so you can see and hear the water. They have gazebos and sitting areas throughout the property. They will even make you a picnic basket lunch so that you can take with you to one of the many sitting areas and have a romantic moment. The grounds are yours to explore and enjoy. During certain times of the year the wine makers wife offers massages and yoga classes along the creek. They have private huts where you can enjoy these services all while hearing the babbling brook in the background.
This is just a perfect place to go spend a day. You could take a wine tour, do some wine tasting, enjoy the grounds and then have dinner on the shaded deck. There are bed and breakfasts close by that you could put the perfect ending to a very special day.
